Recently we had a visit from Jamie and Brenda of the team from St Stephens Meals On Wheels. Meals on Wheels Toowoomba provide nutritious three course home delivered meals up to 7 days a week to assist the disabled, elderly and disadvantaged to maintain independent living. Meals on Wheels Toowoomba is powered by over 300 dedicated volunteers that prepare and deliver more than 250 hot meals per day.
Each Friday we don our Cheesman Applgarth polo shirts and contribute a gold coin to a kitty and when it reaches $150 we donate it to a local charity. This time we have been able to donate $150.00 to St Stephens Meals on Wheels which will help them continue the great work they do for older people and younger people with disabilities and their carers stay in their homes where most are happiest. They are always seeking volunteers to fill many roles from being drivers and navigators, delivering meals into people’s homes. Others may be able to provide office skills helping set up databases, writing newsletters or preparing promotional flyers for events. No matter what an individual can offer, every bit of help adds up to a happier and healthier community.
